AVA029:Ashley Wallbridge – Smoke / Rhythm

No smoke without a fire. When listening to productions like ‘Chimera’ and ‘Harrier’, you’ll hear that Ashley Wallbridge has fire in his belly when it comes down to thumping progressive rhythms. He’s done it before, burning it up with Andy Moor collab ‘Faces’ and raising temperature with his very own ‘Masquerade’, ‘Shotokan’ and ‘Harmonies’. Be sure, his ‘Smoke’ & ‘Rhythm’ is another AVA Recordings duo to be burnt in mind.
‘Smoke’ makes heavy but pleasant use of deep, melodic synth-lines and backs them with a tight progressive baseline. Its strong build-up makes you long for the very climax of the track. ‘Rhythm’ constantly builds and drops arrangements, turning into a big euphoric bomb in the break and then just as quickly dropping back into its roaring baseline.(more info)



AVA028:Ben Nicky featuring Linnea Schossow - Tears

British sound-creator Ben Nicky is one of those producers that captivates both your heart and feet. His previous productions, 'Driven' and 'Morning Breeze', are set the perfect example for that statement. His sound, mesmerizingly melodic and packed with such bold beats, gives you that real take-over-the-dancefloor-feel. That same feeling captures you when listening to his new one, 'Tears'.

'Tears' utilises the vocals talents of rising star Linnea Schössow, reigning from Sweden. Its delightful build up prepares you for a euphoric breakdown. This one is absolutely mind-blowing, combining Linnea's stunning vocals with Ben's production skills. While enjoying the rush taking over, a surprisingly build climax guides you to a tech-trance outro. Its pumping baseline makes standing still almost undoable.

British producer Joe Garrett a.k.a. Temple One, known for his 'Aurora' and 'String Theory' releases, leads 'Tears' in a more uplifting direction on his remix, making it rise to even greater heights. Undeniably big room, in all ways and means.(more info)

  
AVAD027: DNS Project feat. JOHANNA - Timestep

As DNS Project’s track ‘Mindful’ proves: Combining Rene Pais’ producing skills and Johanna’s singing talent equals delicious sounds! And once found the right ingredients, why not use this recipe for success a second time? ‘Timestep’ is Rene’s third vocal trance tune under his DNS Project alias and combines lovely vocals with a dreamy melody and pumping beats.

With ‘Timestep’ the Estonian producer once again returns to his uplifting trance roots. At the beginning of 2010, after creating some down-tempo progressive tracks under his Lens Flare and Whiteglow guises, he decided to consecrate himself to his main alias DNS Project again. First time he let the DNS project out was 2004, when the talent started producing.

When it comes down to successful recipes for pure uplifting, Andy Blueman is definitely working his way up in the kitchen. He did a beautiful remix of ‘Timestep’, on which he once again searches for the highest heights of uplifting. George Acosta had his focus on the contrary, concentrating on the progressive elements and with that presenting a remix that makes standing still an impossible task.

Another new jewel has been added to the tyDi realm of music. The Australian youngster isn't one to sit still for long, so with his 'Good Dream' and 'You Walk Away' still finding their way into the clubs, it's time for a new sensation to scorch the speaker cables.

He may be young at heart, just turned 23, but Tyson Illingworth has plenty of cards to play with. One of the most prolific, forward thinking producers of our time delivers once again with a touch of magic. ‘She Moves’ is the latest masterpiece from AVA label boss and Grammy nominated Andy Moor. For those of you who are not familiar with the string of hit releases under his belt, come out from under the rock in which you live and subscribe to the sound of the man of the moment!

The last 12 months have been a natural progression for the very talented and modest UK based DJ. Coming in at #15 on the all important DJ Mag Top 100 and continually touring the globe, remixing and collaborating with some of the biggest names in the game has become all in a day’s work. AVA025: David Forbes - Katsu

An open mind, broad horizon and pair of musical ears. Three - or actually four - necessities to produce the way David Forbes does. The Glasgow based producer/DJ has been at it for more than 15 years, dealing with sounds that range from chunky techno to deeper trance. In 2009, he released a proggy vocal track on S107, rocked the tech-house crowd with an EP on 68 Recordings and joined forces with William Daniel on a tech-trancy ‘Emotion’ and ‘Illuminatus’ on Captivating. In search of diversity? Let David Forbes be your guide!

On Ava Recordings, David hands in a proggy kissed trancer, ‘Katsu’. Rippling vocal waves, a solid melodic theme, refined electric edges in the break…Mr. Forbes controls it all.
